Herman Home Services FAQ
Customers notice rainwater overflowing the gutters or running down the side of the outside walls instead of flowing through the gutters. There are many reasons for water problems related to your gutter system not working properly. Here are a few frequently asked questions that could help you understand your problem. Check out these FAQs and give us a call at (410) 308-8880 today for more information.
Why does the water run over the gutters instead of in the gutters?
It could be as simple as a clogged gutter with leaves or debris, or a blockage in the elbows or downspout. The simplest and most affordable fix is to have a thorough cleaning of the gutters. We will be happy to give you a free estimate.
What do you mean by “changing the pitch of the gutters"?
Ice could freeze between the gutters and the house pushing the gutters out of “pitch” meaning they are no longer properly aligned for proper water flow.
The gutters are coming off the house. What’s happening?
Wood rot behind the gutters means the clamps holding the gutters in place are loose and the weight of the debris forces the gutters out.
My fear as a homeowner is that when I see a problem it will cost me thousands of dollars that I can’t afford or don’t want to spend right now. What do I do?
Our industry is full of companies that want the most they can get out of a homeowner. We want to keep the homeowner a customer for many years, so we examine your gutter system and give you a bid for a variety of options that you can afford. Fixing the immediate problem may not require a completely new gutter system. We won’t just tell you it’s that or nothing. Maybe a cleaning, pitch realignment or a few new brackets for support that can get you by for another year. We work with you and not WORK YOU.
